The Department of Commerce, Government J. Buana College, has been granted Permanent Affiliation status under the Mizoram University. The 48th Meeting of the Academic Council (Dt. 13.06.2025), Vide its Resolution No. AC:48:4(20) : II A(iii) resolved to grant Permanent Affiliation for B.Com w.e.f. 2025-2026 academic session.
The Freshers’ Social 2025 was successfully organised by the Students’ Union of Government J. Buana College on 25th July 2025 at 11:00 AM. The occasion was graced by Pu T. Lalhlimpuia, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Lunglei West Constituency, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Upon his arrival, Pu Lalhlimpuia was warmly received by the Principal, Pi Lalthangmawii Chhangte, along with senior faculty members of the college. A Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief Guest by the college’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit, marking a dignified and ceremonial start to the programme.
The event was chaired by Lalremruatpuia Aineh, Vice President of the Students’ Union. The proceedings began with a short devotions led by Philip Lalrinzuala, Chairman of the Evangelical Union, followed by a soulful musical performance by the Evangelical Union Choir.
In her welcome address, Pi Lalthangmawii Chhangte, Principal of the college, extended a warm greeting to the newly admitted students and expressed her hopes for a fulfilling academic journey for all. The Oath-Taking Ceremony for the Students’ Union was led by Jacob B. Malsawmtluanga, Games & Sports Secretary.
A highlight of the programme was the official release of the College Magazine, which was unveiled by the Chief Guest. Pu T. Lalhlimpuia also delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the freshers to excel in their studies.
The prestigious Prof. J. Zorema Proficiency Award was presented by the Chief Guest to this year’s recipient, Vanlalpekhlua, in recognition of his academic excellence and outstanding performance at the MZU UG Examinations.
Members of the Music Club then gave a wonderful rendition of the College Theme Song.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by R. Vanlalhruaitluanga, General Secretary of the Students’ Union, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty & staff, and attendees for making the event a grand success.
